The intent of this program is to provide the student musician with the opportunity to play in a band or bands. The bands are directed by a team of experienced professionals in the field of Rock and Roll music. The program is open to all age groups and accommodates all levels of expertise.
The idea to embark on this endeavor came to us after reflecting upon how it felt to be an aspiring player but not knowing quite how to take it further - namely, how to organize a functional band. To do so is a major progression for the musician and we feel that the opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced players will accelerate the student’s progression on their musical journey.
In 2006, we at Gallucci Music began presenting our annual “GallucciPalooza” summer concert, featuring students who study in our studios. Those who have attended the performances know how successful they have been. The Embassy of Rock makes this experience an ongoing one which delves into much more detail than is possible with our annual concert. Each program covers all aspects of both musicianship and group formation - how to work as a team, how to address the learning of material, how to work on your “tone”, the proper use of a sound system, the “presentation of music” plus composition and much more. We have found the Embassy to be a tremendous experience for all involved, both students and teachers. We are delighted to have the opportunity to influence aspiring musicians in a healthy and positive way and to provide them with an opportunity they otherwise may not have.
The program is conducted at Gallucci Music Studios, Wyoming Ave, Scranton, PA. The sessions run in increments of eight weeks each, and take place on Friday evenings beginning at 6pm. Performance is an integral part of the program. Students will play in a First Friday performance at the store. This serves as a warm up for the show at the end of our eight week session which takes place at an area club/restaurant where family and friends are invited to see the kids rock!
Our faculty consists of two core members and this team will be augmented throughout the sessions by visiting members of the professional music community in order to offer a complete and
well-rounded musical program.
